Born in 1929, NM Sivasami was a man of purpose, discipline, and quiet determination. In 1947, at just 18 years old, he began his career as a police officer, serving with integrity in a newly independent India. Though the role brought stability, his entrepreneurial spirit called him toward a greater dream — to build something of his own, from the ground up.

In 1958, guided by courage and a deep sense of responsibility, he made a life-changing decision to resign from government service and start a small tea shop. What seemed like a modest step soon became the foundation of something extraordinary. Through sheer hard work, resilience, and the unwavering support of his family, that humble tea stall grew into what is today known as the NMS Group.

With the active involvement of his sons and daughters, the family expanded into multiple industries — launching NMS Schools, NMS Fort, NMS Teak Cares, Avaris Construction Ltd, and Avaris Transport. Each venture carried forward his core values of honesty, courage, and service to society, and together, they built a trusted legacy that has flourished for over three decades.
